What makes a Hillside Traveler?

Whether backpacking through the California Sierra Nevada's or hiking in the Swiss Alps, my special moment is taking the time to pause and reflect halfway up the "hillside". All that fun planning for the trip is now really happening. We see the alpine flowers on the hillside, the friends with us on the trail, and down below the valley and meadows. Then peer up the trail, wondering... what is over the next ridge? What a thrill!

The Hillside Traveler is one who desires a relaxing and enjoyable trip -- but values the time to properly prepare and makes that preparation time part of the journey (the anticipation!). A Hillside Traveler includes those folks who worked hard through the years, kids may be in college, and now they want to take that dream trip to Europe. So where to start?

This website is a source of information to help one prepare the trip. It will take suggestions for trip ideas, then build it into a possible dream trip for guest to use. It is also a website that shares past trips, sharing not just the pictures but the planning details and experiences along the way. So browse the website, and get your own ideas. Travel - Fun and Relaxing

This website will stay away from exotic or unusual trips, and does not dive into the spas or resorts. Instead, it is for the Hillside Traveler who wants to see the sites, live for the moment, but not get all tired and exhausted. For example, imagine hiking the Alps, but back at your rental at 4 PM to just relax and enjoy the views, with a glass of wine and cheese and good company, before a homemade meal at night or seeing a local musician perform in a pub.

You will see trip plans that are intended to slow down the trip, so you really enjoy it - not cram a hundred things into one day. If you are seeking trip ideas for seeing 10 European cities in 5 days, this is not your site. Trip plans are intended to make sensible choices - to slow down, enjoy the moment, and find time to mix with the locals.
